Today is the one year anniversary for the Southern Gospel Forums. For those unfamiliar with that site, it is a message board/chat room started by blogger Daniel Mount. I hang out on there quite often and have a great deal of fun with it. The forum had a booth at NQC 2009 and I was privileged to meet many of the folks that I talk with on the forum.
One of the things that I like about the place is the friendly, non-threatening atmosphere that is lacking on many other forums. On SGF, you can go slightly off topic without having a moderator jump down your throat and threaten to ban you from the forum.
While still not a large community, word is starting to get out about SGF. Several artists have even been known to post on there from time to time.
Happy Anniversary to Southern Gospel Forums!

More Group Changes
As most of you have probably heard by now, lead singer Ryan Seaton has left Ernie Haase and Signature Sound. His replacement is Devin McGlamery of Karen Peck and New River. Devin's first concert with EHQQS will be January 15th in Hamilton (near Cincinnati), Ohio.
At my son's request I ordered tickets and, weather permitting, we will get to see how good of a fit Devin will be with the group. The Collingsworth Family will also perform at the concert.
There have been some major changes with very successful groups over the past few weeks. Hopefully, things will stabilize for a while!

The Revival Of Gold City
It seems that the naysayers were wrong. Many people were lamenting the demise of Gold City in 2009 due to all of the changes the group had experienced. However, some of us, including me, advised patience. That seems to have been good advice.
Gold City is back, and from all reports they are as good as they ever were, maybe even better! Tim Riley is back on the road full time as bass singer. Former Ernie Haase and Signature Sound pianist Roy Webb was added to the group, as was original Legacy Five tenor singer Joshua Cobb.
When this news broke several weeks back, I was stunned. I had been preaching patience and asking for people to wait and see what would happen instead of trash talking about Daniel Riley and Gold City, but I certainly did not expect things to turn out as well as they did.
Daniel was able to assemble a group of extremely talented individuals to carry on the Gold City legacy. I certainly look forward to seeing them in concert this year and picking up their next CD.
Gold City has most definitely been revived!

A New Start, An Explanation, And A News Item
Greetings everyone! I figured a new year would be a good time to make a new start on my blog!
I had to step away for a couple of months due to some personal issues. I had some unexpected things pop up that prevented me from doing this every day as I had originally intended. Hopefully, things are straightened out enough that I can at least me a weekly post, if not more often than that.
Now on to a big news item:
Former Legacy Five tenor Frank Seamans shared some good news with me today. His son, Frank Seamans Jr. is now officially in remission from his cancer! Praise God! That is wonderful news! I urge everyone to continue to keep Frank and his family in your prayers!

New legacy Five Tenor
Legacy Five has posted on their blog that Gus Gaches has been selected to be the new tenor for the group.

I'll post more about this later.
I apologize for not updating this blog for the past week or so. I have had some personal issues to deal with and that took up all of my time. Hopefully, things will be getting back to normal soon and I can resume my daily updates.
